Live In Liverpool

Live session by Newen Afrobeat, tape-recorded in Liverpool, UK, during the 2024 tour at Quarry (venue and studio) and captured by The Lightning Cave. Twenty-four minutes with four pieces back to back: "Es La Vida" and "Grietas", from the album Grietas (2024), and two Fela Kuti classics, "Ako" and "No Agreement". The audio of this session is the EP Liverpool Session, released in April 2025.

The line-up is Fran Ri and Erin Rutledge on vocals, Sebastián Crooker on guitar, Benjamín Astroza on bass, Alejandro "El Galita" Orellana and Tomás Pavez on percussion, Roberto "Tito" Gevert on drums, Klaus Brantmayer on alto sax, Vicente Aravena on tenor sax and Enrique Camhi and Sergio Quijada on trumpets. Thomas Benson and Jack Wait recorded and mixed it; Caitlin Mongan and Jack Cowls shot the video.

With four pieces back to back and no cuts, it is a good way into the band's current sound: their own repertoire and Fela's in one set.
