Official music video for "Open Your Eyes", a song composed by Oghene Kologbo, Fela Kuti's original guitarist, and recorded with Newen Afrobeat during his visit to Chile in 2017. It is the fifth track on Curiche (2019) and was published in January that year as the album's first single.
According to the band, the video portrays their experiences in Lagos, Nigeria, between 2015 and 2018, and the contrast with Santiago de Chile. Juane Morales directed it, with camera by Danilo Campos, motion graphics by Tomás Pavez and footage from Nigeria by Francisca Castro, Juane Morales, Matías Veras and Javiera Naranjo. The track was recorded at CHT and Santuario Sónico studios, produced by Martín Concha and mixed and mastered by Juan Pablo Quezada (Prabha).
It is the most-watched video on the band's channel after the full debut album, and the one that best sums up Newen's bond with Lagos.
